On Thursday the 4th May, 48 year 7 art students visited Marwell Zoological Park. The purpose of the day was to study the different animals and make observational drawings based on what they saw. Students used booklets to draw a number of different animals from rhinos to penguins.
Students were lucky enough also to attend an educational workshop based on animal skins and they could handle rare pieces including leopard skin and python skin. They were then asked to make observational drawings of the different patterns and textures. At the end of the sessions the students got to touch a real female Royal Python who was beautiful!
Everyone had a great day walking around the park and studying the animals. There were quite a lot of tired feet at the end!
