Student Wellbeing

We are incredibly proud of the importance we place on student health and wellbeing at Applemore. We strive to embed in our students the ability to develop a toolkit of strategies to manage the ups and downs of life. We add important and age-appropriate strands to this toolkit as students progress through Applemore in; assemblies, life skills lessons, and tutor sessions. We recognise that from time to time we all need some support from other people.

Our Student Support team specialise in the support of students who may be experiencing social, emotional and/or behavioural difficulties. They are managed by Miss B Jolly (Assistant Headteacher and Designated Safeguarding Lead) and work closely with our SEND team, with Heads of Year, assistant Heads or Year and with tutors. Our Pastoral Support Managers; Mr Robinson& Mrs Lancaster and Mrs Page our Mental Health and Wellbeing Lead, are able to support arising needs as well as providing structured sessions to support key areas of emotional development, anxiety, emotional regulation and social confidence.

Our Pastoral Support Team are also able to make referrals to other agencies working with us to support our young people. These include: It’s Your Choice, Yellow Door, No Limits, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) and others.
