Welcome to Year 8 at Applemore.

We are a large year group with a huge amount of ambition.  

Our personal ethos as a year group is centred around three qualities: 

• Determination  
• Believe  
• Respect 

Determination is key for our student as they take their journey to adulthood. Part of this is for are students to Learn from their mistakes and be determined to put it right. We acknowledge that every pupil in the year group is on a different journey to reach their end goal, where they will come across obstacles on the way and its there determination that will push them through to reach their goal. 

Believing in yourself is an integral part of success. Often it’s easy to give to give up before we have started. As a year group its important we all support each other and believe that we can all reach our individual end goal.   

A level of respect is important to being a successful person in school and beyond. In year 8 we work extremely hard to ensure that we are showing a basic level of respect to all other students, school staff and visitors on a daily basis. Sometimes in can be hard to show respect when we feel that we are not being show it in return, however working towards ensuring everybody acts towards other in a way we would expect our students to act creates a positive environment.
